Beginning in February 2024 Rustington Golf Centre will be carrying out a complete irrigation overall which will help ensure a top quality golf course, year round.
Out With the Old, In With the New
Our current irrigation system, dating back to the early ’90s, has served us well, but the time has come for an upgrade. The shift from 158 to 270 sprinklers will make a significant difference, strategically placed on greens, tees, approaches, and now, fairways. This move places us among a select few clubs in the area boasting fairway irrigation.
Year-Round Benefits
Come summer, our Greenkeeping team will have greater control over water application, ensuring better coverage during dryer months and preventing grass from succumbing to the summer heat. As we head into winter, our golf course will benefit from improved coverage, mitigating wear and tear.
Smart Technology Takes the Lead
The software driving our new irrigation system is a major leap forward, giving our Head Greenkeeper, Rob, significantly more control. Unlike the previous system, which measured time in minutes, the upgraded software uses millimetres, providing precise control and reducing water wastage. This is not just a technological upgrade; it’s a step towards environmental sustainability.
